Default Lucid Panasonic DS-162

So what's the story on these Panasonic components that Lucid is offering. They can be powered by the stock deck? How do they sound? Are they worth it for a '02 S2000 with the Lucid 3-way Kenwoods behind the seat? How easy is the install? Do the tweaters fit in the stock pods?

Thanks in advance for any info!!!

Any change in the stock speakers is an improvement. If you want to go the inexpensive route, changing the door speakers and adding rear speakers is the way to go. Simple install with good instructions supplied.

But, you get what you pay for. You will get improved sound, but not great sound.

The advantage to this set is that they will work and sound very good with the 02 deck. They have the widest freq. range around.

Panasonics are what I use in my S2k

Thanks Lucid. In regards to the speakers being installed in the rear, I noticed that there's an option to mount the tweets on the rear speaker panel. Are the tweets actually functional directly behind the seat? Is there an alternate mounting location that you would recommend? I remember that you had a set mounted higher up in the roll bar? I don't have the seat all the way back, but would like the install to be as clean, tidy, and functional as possible. Your expertise is greatly appreciated.

I forgot to ask what else we need to buy to install these component speakers.

Do the components fit in the stock tweeter pods?

What kind of mods have to be done to get these to sets to fit? My car is a lease and I don't want to hack it up too bad?
