I'm not. Guess that renders my 10 years of experience in car audio and professional electronics repair to be null and void.

 

haha nice... I dont know why you wouldn't want to be though, my job gives me big raises every time I advance in MECP

 

Because it's not what I do for a living...and my job won't pay me any more for having that certification?

 

I don't need a cert to remind me I know what I'm doing or make me feel warm and fuzzy and it isnt my full time job.

 

Wow I would of thought there would be at least a couple of you guys that have it..

 

I could take it and pass but it just wouldnt help me make extra money. I have the books and I have had them for years. My day job is a telecommunications cabling infrastructure engineer.

I taught myself how to build and design car audio sound systems by reading and watching others and learning from some pretty big name in the industry. You might know a few... Steve Brown, and Mike Vue... and a few others. And less not forget the trial and error self training you learn real fast when your wasting your own money.

 

I worked for in the AF as an electronics technician (specifically, I was a Guidance and Control Systems Craftsman) before I landed my current job as a Field Service Engineer working on Ion Implanters.

And, again, I've been doing car audio for the past 10 years. I have no need for a certification for something I do as a hobby.
