Default mid-woofer replacement suggestions?

Hi guys, I currently transferred over my old Alpine Type-R Components from my DD over to the S while powering them with a 300/2 JL Audio amp.

One of the 6.5" woofers are blown so for a temporary fix I just decided to reinstall the stock S woofers while i do some searching for a replacement. I dont really want to get another component set but was toying with the idea of getting coaxials in replacement of the woofers.

I already have spacers and speaker adapters so that's not a problem. I really like the way the Alpines sound so gonna stick with them. I could always find an Alpine woofer replacement on ebay but thinking the coax route might be interesting. Suggestions?

maybe these?
Alpine Type-R SPR-17C - Car speaker - 100 Watt - 2-way - coaxial - 6.5"

Quick specs for reference:

-MY07
-Alpine 9886 deck
-first gen Alpine Type-R 6.5" components
-Rewired all using 12awg wiring
-JL Audio 300/2 for components
-JL Audio 500/1 running Pioneer 10inch flat sub in sealed enclosure

after reading reviews, might replace woofers with these since its a good price and liked so much by others here:

Polk Audio DB651 6.5-Inch Coaxial Speakers

Any suggestions/comments?

I have read good things about those speakers on here.

On a side note (not to thread jack), I was hoping you could help me out. I have the same set up as you Alpine Type-R 6.5" components
Rewired using 12awg wiring to the cross over which is then connected to the
6.5" speaker and the tweeter.

I am also using a JL Audio 300/2 amp for the components did you use the crossover, if so what Db level was it set at.

Regards,
Brett

@bmxer
Thanks man, everything's sounding great right now and more than enough power where it seems like my exhaust is quieter lol I'd still get components over coax just for the benefit of a crossover. It just cleans everything up so much.

@FineTunedPerformance
Sweet, I really love the Type-R's in the old ride so I stuck with the same setup (plus is cheaper lol) I was deciding on if I should use my HU's built in crossover set to 80hz or just use the JL's HP option and felt that using the JL's amp crossover seto th HP @ 75hz worked best. It gave just the right amount of mid bass which blended in with my sub. If you arn't running a sub you can set the crossover much lower for more bass. I'm sure the Alpines can handle them It's all personal preference.
