Hello all,

hoping the think tank can help me out here. I know a lot of people use modifrys dci kit. I paid extra for the plug and play kit for the dci (not good with splicing wires). The harness provided works perfectly and no issues with the head unit however the controls still don’t work with the appropriate switches toggled. I reached out to bob and I returned it and received a new one but still no issues. It only plugs in one way, the pins are making direct contact with the dci. It should be very easy plug and play but still no luck? Any suggestions or help would really be appreciated. I’m pulling my hair out.

my unit is Jvc Kd-x270bt (which states steering wheel controls are preserved with an adapter).

i okayed with settings in the unit to see if that was the issue but there isn’t an option. Thanks!

 

You should work directly with Bob via PM or phone or whatever...He is the expert on this...heck he build the darn thing. Most of us, we just "plug" it in and it just "works"...Not much to do otherwise really. At least for me. I'm using Alpine HU though. Are you 100% sure your JVC HU is not defective at the steering wheel control part? Just a thought...

 

And did you get the correct version? I believe there are a few versions for different types of head units. It has been a while since I looked since I ordered mine a long time ago.

 

Thanks guys. Yeah it’s def the right version. Jvc. I emailed bob and he sent me one back and it still didn’t works. So it’s likely a short somewhere else. He sent me the voltages I should be getting so I’ll test them out the see if I’m getting it or if I’m not getting power. Thanks!
