Default Modifry DCI's mute/pause with alpine unit

I am wondering if all alpine units have the ATT wire to support the pause function instead of using mute function? i have a 9852 but i am not sure if I have this wire even if i look into the manual or on alpine website, i couldn't find it.

also is anyone using the SCV function? how do you guys like it? it seems convenient to me cuz i always have to change volume at different speed..

Not positve about the 9852, but on the 9857 the ATT wire is the pink wire w/ black strippe.

My friend who is an installer, and did my stereo setup, said he can make the mute button work, but for how long it would take him he doesnt want to do it. i can ask him for an explanation for you. maybe then i can talk him into doing it for me as well!

So i took the unit out and I can't find the pink wire with black stripe
it does support infra-red but not bluetooth i believe.

so my deck probably won't support the ATT function huh?

You don't need the remote, just a deck that's IR ready. I love my SVC - more beneficial than not having it at the second highest setting. I never got the ATT to work on my 9847, just mute.

with bluetooth, when you receive a call, its probably higher in importance than listenign to music so the unit sends an interrupt signal to the HU...

so without bluetooth, i dont see a receive for the HU to have the interrupt /pause feature

I see. I guess i have to go without the pause function then.

speaking of the SVC, does the volume increase by an increment of 1 for every increase of speed interval? if so then i might need to select a higher level of the SVC like 11 or 12 for it to be useful because going at 80mph and at rest has about 8 levels of difference in the volume.
what SVC level do you guys use? and if you pick two non-zero levels that means you can't turn the SVC off? in order to have the SVC off, one level has to be zero?

I have both features working on my 9851 and like them a lot. The SVC works great for whenever I have my top down or have the softtop up, but can be a little too aggressive for driving with my hardtop. I do have the sensitivity toggle switches set to the least aggressive mode (low), but there is so much less road noise at highway speeds with the hardtop that I almost always have to turn it down a little on the freeway and then back up when I get off.

That's still a lot less fiddling than doing it by hand and I can easily turn it off altogether by simply holding the mode button down and tapping CH on the dash controls. That same sequence also turns it back on so it's easy to go back and forth. The documentation doesn't mention that any of the dip switch settings for SVC will have any effect on the ability with toggle SVC on/off with the Mode/CH buttons.
