Default Mount depth on door speakers?

I was wondering what the deepest mouting depth you can replace the factories with on an AP1. I wanted to put in a set of Alpine TypeR speakers for now to help with the terrible factory HU.

They will fit. Just cut the back out of the stock speaker basket. The spec's and dimentions are in the FAQ.

I ordered a set of type R Alpine speakers earlier today. Hopefully everything will turn out well. Anyone have a clue how they sound in the S? I have had a lot of good experience with alpine products

just a little confused about the mounting depth listed on the post that is stickied. Is the top mounting depth going to be enough to clear 2 1/2 inchs and still be able to let the window down?

I cant remember the exact number but I know someone who does. Go to www.crutchfield.com and select outfit my car. Put in the make, model and year and they will give you the number you seek. Trust me they knowas they sell a ton of stuff and have an army measuring cars. I was just there last night and can tell you the depth of a head unit that will fit an'01 is 7.5 inches
