You should consider getting an in dash digital equalizer for the original radio location. Pioneer and Kenwood both have good one for around $100.

The Focal speakers are simply STUNNING if installed correctly. I highly recommend you use dynamat on the entire door if you are going to invest this much money in speakers. (See my thread elsewhere)

Did you get the Focal K2P model? Those are the best IMO

I'm running an Alpine PDX amp on my Focals and along with the dynamat, I SWEAR you do not even need to run a subwoofer - that's how good they are! I love strong midbass for sure

You can't go wrong with Audison amp so looks like you got a killer combo going for you

Post pics / sound listening results....!~

thx for the advise, I don't recall the model perfectly, but I have an old VR amp, those greenish ones. Since they aren't reall beauties I'm thinking of mounting it under the driverseat, so I save trunkspace. I'm not putting in immediately a sub... at least, I hope I don't need a sub with the amp and focals. I'm buying the K2P's from a friend...
How much would the dynamat cost more or less? And what about the extra weight, is it much? Don't have experience yet with it...course I'm interested in learning...
My amp has 2x120 wrms I believe, and it looks like one of these

sorry for the off topic, when I have the job done, I'll post pictures here... somewhere in december I think

nice job on this topic!!!!

That amp will NOT fit under the seat bro - no way...hahaha

Even my PDX amp which is super small will have a tough time going under the seat.

That looks awesome!

A question: what did you use to finish the bezel? It matches the dash perfectly!

The bezel is sanded with 800, 1000 grit paper and then sprayed with 3 coats of primer before wet sanded again and then the final coat is a black textured paint. We use 5 coats of it, then sand with steel wool to give it that roughy look before spraying 2 more final light coats to dry.

Turned out really nice but its MAJOR MAJOR LABOR if you try to attempt it.....just an FYI

Been toying around with the idea of using a Pioneer Z1 model in the dash - it's also a double din unit similiar to the Eclipse but it has 3 distinct advantages:

1) Bluetooth
2) 7" display vs. 6.5" on Eclipse
3) Awesome Ipod Interface

has anyone on this board installed/attempted a Pioneer Z1 installation?

This is the deck I'm talking about btw
