has anyone on this board installed/attempted a Pioneer Z1 installation?
I was actually wondering the same thing. I've asked a few people about it, and they said any standard double-din should fit in the dash fine.

On a slightly related note, did i totally miss something on the Pioneer site or does the Z1 NOT have any media card reading inputs? I don't really wanna buy an ipod when i have a bunch of sd cards and memory sticks.

This is not about fitment in terms of standard height but actual install of a Z1 unit. Usually these units vary in terms of where the cables come out, mounting depth and even faceplate dimensions. Was just curious if anyone has actually done one vs. "hypothetical thinking".....

As an actual owner of a unit I can tell you the media card reader is not all that useful as you think - it does not work like you have in mind - the Ipod is much easier trust me.

Pioneer does not have any media reading areas.....check out this pic:

Thanks guys! We're still waiting for anothre s2000 owner to step up and allow us to do this install on another car besides our own demo car. The deck is truly amazing and the location is near perfect for this car.

The only thing stopping most people is the cost but as with all things you get what you pay for.
