Thanks to you guys who have stuck with me and have been giving me good advice on product selection! Here's the latest:

I was actually happy that I downgraded the amp from 150W per channel to 100W, for the front and rear separates. The Audiobahn website lists the !00W amp (A1004DP) at 8.5 x 9.5 inches, which is the same measurements as the sub amp I bought (A1502DP).

This means I could do a super clean installation with both amps side-by-side in the rear of the trunkwell (which would flip-up and make room to carry a tire).

So the 100W amp came, and it's 8.5 x 12 7/8 inches, and is too big for the planned installation. Man, that was disappointing! Since I won't save any space by using the 100W amp, I sent it back to exchange (again) for the 150W amp. I don't know if the store will exchange it, or not (semi-ebay deal).

I've decided, for now, to go with 2 Eclipse SW7500DVC subs in modified WL boxes. I've determined that the WL boxes are as big as I can go, and still maintain OEM functionality. Custom boxes would only give slightly more space, and not enough to justify the cost.

My friend that moved gave me a contact at Al & Ed's for the subs, so I still may get a good deal.

I already removed the face plate (cover) and the trim pieces from the sub amp . I wanted to make sure I could modify it with the CF treatment, and some custom laser-cut pieces. I'm going to put it back together, and make sure everything is working before I mod the amps.

The techs that I spoke to from MB Quart, and from Eclipse told me that the Audiobahn amps are pretty good quality, and would be fine for this installation. I know they're not the best, so I wasn't expecting their endorsement! :)

Sounds like you may have it all figured out there Pete. What was your final list of parts installled?

UPDATE:

I've been PMing back and forth with WLaurent about the sub boxes. I still think modifying those are the way to go. I should be ready to order them soon.

I ordered the MB Quart QSD 213 separates for the rear.

The Audiobahn A1504DP (150W x4) amp is on the way.

The MB Quart QSD 213 separates for the rear and the Audiobahn A1504DP (150W x4) amp came in a while back.

I just received the subs:

The next step is to get the enclosures from WL.
