Looks great so far. How will you be venting the amp area? It will get hot there fast.

thanks. amp has an internal fan and i left an opening in front of the box to vent hot air. there's also a surprising amount of room in the tool well all around the amp.

Looks great. Any tips for cutting the ring? I can't cut a circle for the life of me.

use the template that comes with the speaker for the inside. and when you get that cut out set the speaker in the hole and trace around it for the outside. i just used a router, and took my time cutting the rings. saber saw is alot easier but it's what i had. you can always take material off but cant put it back if you cut too far.

Use a router. Make yourself a "compass" from scrap wood. You attatch the board to your router and the opposit side in the middle of your circle.

If that's too crappy of an explanation, buy yourself a Jasper jig.

As you can see the router bit protrudes through the middle of that hole at the curved end of the jig and your nail sticks in one of the many small holes towards the square end of the jig. The whole thing (router and jig) rotate around the pivot point, in other words where nail is stuck in the board. Simple right? Now save yourself some money and make one out of scrap plywood. You'd only need 1 pivot point if you're only cutting one circle.

haven't had time to finish yet, but getting closer.
amp wired up

glass work done and a test fit

and a little body filler to smooth it out

now all i gotta do is sand it, paint it, and install some quick disconnects for the speakers.
