Talking My new system

Alright, heres my short story about my new hifi-system. I dropped my car at a local car-hifi store on 06/25/2007. It took almost 2 weeks to finish the system (fortunately its been really bad weather these days, so couldn't take my S out anyways ).

Last friday evening I could finally pick it up again. Here's a short list of the stuff installed:

Headunit: Alpine CDA-9853R
Speakers: Focal K2 Power 165K2P, tweeters molded in A-pillar
Amp: Alpine PDX 4.150 mounted in spare tire well
Sub: Hertz ES 250 in custom fitted box, mounted in tool well

Well, what can I say?

WOW! I got by far more than what I expected!
Unbelivable how nice and clean the system sounds, and how hard the bass kicks, even at highest volumes. With the oem system I could hardly hear any bass when driving on freeways at 80 kmh (50 mph) or higher. With the new system I can now even run 140 kmh (85 mph) and still can hear everything loud and clear

Especially the tweeters mounted to the A-piller make a huge improvement over the OEM tweeter position! The stage now is right in front of me ontop of the dashboard

Everybody that isn't happy with the stock system should do something like that! I can only recommend it!

Will try to make some pictures tonight and post them here tomorrow.

Two weeks? That seems a little on the long side, but hey, as long as it is done right, that is what counts. That is a nice amp you got, I really liked it, the size is small and produces little heat since it is a digital amp, but it the cost was beyond my budget. Looking forward to the pics. It is such a huge different going from stock to amplified sound isn't it? I made the same jump just recently.

@karz786: since I live in Switzerland and everything is just twice as expensive than in the US, it wouldn't make sense to go into details. It was quite expensive, but to me it was worth every single penny!

@neoarroyo: The guy who did it had an accident just 2 days before I brought him my car, so he couldn't really work at 100%, but as you already said, as long as it is done right, I don't care. And he did a really nice job!

Here are a few pictures:

The trunk. As you can see, you can't see much

^^ Thanks for the pics, very nice.

Nice & clean install, how is the amp working out? I just read the specs on it, looks decent on paper. Did you bridge ch 3-4 for the sub?
