I got fed up with the stock system so i had an idea...

MB quart PSD 216
Stock deck

having an 01, i didnt get the nice door mounted pods. so we looked around for a good place and came up short. pillar was my first choice but they would have been too high becuase of the vent and cross memebers in there. i didnt want to chop leather so that was out. this is what we came up with...

down low, angle mounted.

I did have doubt about putting them so low but the MB tweeters are sooo loud it works out. they were so loud we had to set the x-overs to -2 treb.

as far as the components go, i think there great. nice bass(better then stock) little bit of thump(hey what do you expect from a 6.5) tweeters, very bright. easly over powering if you dont tune them.

all and all, i think its a great way to spend about $250 for quality sound.

They look nice, but I'd say those are pointing a little downwards, reason I say that is they look flush mounted and if they are that panel angles down just a little bit. Not that it matters because if it sound great then my previous statement means nothing.

my .02

its basicly my goofy camera angle that would make you say that i think. if you look at the last pic, you can see that the mount is thicker at the bottom then it is at the top. that leans it upwards slightly. very hard to tell in the pics...

Looks good. Quart rocks. That should be a good place for that tweeter, aiming a Quart tweeter directly at your ear can be painful! No roll off at high frequencies from those puppies.

The MB's do scream.

For anybody else following this path I have found that you can melt a tweeter mount into the plastic grill in where the main speaker is and give it a little direction. also it's hidden and I was afraid to do what you did because I always figured that I would knock them off with my foot getting into the car.

Also MB sells some larger angle tweeter flush mounts that might give you a little more sound direction.
