Nakamichi Questions
Hey whats up everyone? I have a few questions about Nakamichi.
I have the SPW 1200D Sub and I am thinking of buying the CD400 deck. My problem is I do not know a thing about audio equitment. I would like to know if the CD-400 can play CD-Rs? I have searched but I can not find anything about what kind of CDs it will suport. My second problem is that I need advice on what Nakamichi amp to buy that will power the sub. Maybe I am reading it wrong but it looks to me like nothing they have will power their subwoofer. My last question is will their 6.5 Inch speakers fit in the door and can they be powered by the CD400 itself or will I need another Amp to do that? Thank you for your time. John
I have 2001 if that matters. I would like to keep everything Nakamichi.

Hey bro! I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who is a major nakamichi nut...the CD400 can play CD-r/WR's and if you are running the nakamichi 6.5's in your doors, you will not need an extra amp based on the output on the deck and the wattage on the speakers. P.S. Im selling a Nakamichi In-DV7 =D
I have a Nak CD400 and used to run SP-C652 coaxs without a
separate amp. Performance was adequate, but it's a pretty
noisy car and I'm happier now that I have a separate amp
(I'm also currently running CDT HD62 components instead
of the SP-C652s). Personally, I think if you're putting in nice
gear, you'll be happier with an amp too, and since you need to
add one for the sub anyway, maybe get a 4-channel, bridging
two for the sub. Oh, and yes the 6.5s will fit, but you'll need
to replace the stock speaker basket with an MDF ring or other
spacer - cutting the stock basket won't work with these speakers.

Thanks for all the info guys. I am about 3 Paycheck away from having all the money I need to start this. I already bought the sub...I still need advice on what Nakamichi Amp to buy so I can power this badboy! lol

That is what I have been hearing...I just want to have enough power for this thing to sound great. I am not expecting too much. I realise that I drive a convertable that redlines at 9000RPMS. In all seriousness the S2000 has the worst stock sound system I have ever heard besides my GS-R Integra. I am not a bass head. I just like clean sounding music. So I hope by adding the Nakamichi's that is will sound better. Thanks for all the info....Does anyone know where I can purchase the Amp and the CD-400? I have a local dealer he is the only one in New York State but he wants $795 for the CD-400 and lord knows how much for the Amp.

That HU is on special right now too
