Default Need advice on a sub-woofer

Whats up guys. I need some advice on my sound system that was just installed into my s2k. I have phoenix gold zx400 2 channel amp with MB Quart 218.61 component speakers. My system has the cleanest sound you will ever hear but is seriously lacking in the bass department. Would it be possible to drop in an 8" sub connected my 2 channel amp? I am not looking for that deep bass sound but i do need at least some bass. Ideally i would like to keep my amp that i have now. Any suggestions?

I would change the amp really. Or add a new one.

You're really going to need a new amp -- no matter how creative you are, two channels just isn't enough.

What would you guys suggest? I have heard of a bazooka tube that is pretty small and wont take up much space while giving me some decent bass. How about the 8" subs offered on this site?

Check your owners manual. Some 2-channel amplifiers can run in mixed mono...stereo for your front speakers and mono for a sub.

The feedback on the WLAURENT subs has been great, do a quick search and you will find the threads.

Hey Lucid, what about adding a pair of your rear speakers? Would that give me some bass? I am sorry for asking so many questions, but i only have a limited amount of knowledge on systems and i am just looking for a nice why to add some bass. All of your feedback is appreciated. Thank you!

You could do that with a 2 channel amp. Provided that it can handle a 2-ohm load. You would lose fading but it would improve sound greatly in the cabin. Since it is a 2 channel you would want to add bass blockers to the rear speakers.

-What model would you suggest for the sound i am looking for and are the prices listed on your site for a pair of speakers or for one?

4" rear speakers will not give you bass.
