try a metra inline antenna....I had one of these when I shaved the antenna off my civic....it is thin, measures like 5-6 inches long, and mounts on the windshield glass with double-stick tape....I mounted it near my rear view mirror and had no visibility or pure annoyance problems....good luck.

actually, i've seen the inline windshield antennas before. if done right, they can be very good looking (ie, not visible) and work well.

I am going to try to avoid the windshield. I want to do all my work in the trunk area. I'll play with some ideas and see what works.

I'll post up results.

I dropped the car at the body shop today. I hope to get it back in about a week.

I agree with a new digital antenna. The stock type antennas need to be up in the air...the "hanger" antennas as I call them will do almost nothing if they need to go through sheetmetal. I would consider glass weave (the ones you stick onto your windshield....)

Also, its not that big a deal, considering the radio is right there anyway.

Quick update:

Right now I have NO antenna hooked up at all. Reception is poor. (Ok, actually I have NONE.) I am planning to play around with this over the winter. Just wanted to share the look.

[QUOTE]Any other suggestions?[QUOTE]

Have you thought about hiding it under the flap of cloth surrounding the rear window? I think you could hook it up this way temporarily to evaluate. May or may not get good recption with the top down, but I'm guessing it would be better than a fender.

BTW- it looks great!

A couple of other possibilities are: under the leading edge or your spoiler, or a black one along the rear edge of the wind deflector.

I like the idea of along the windscreen. I might try that.

Thanks, Mark!

Just do this - pretty sure the reception would be good

Or (if you have full glass) - replace your windshield with one of these:
