Welcome aboard!! Congrats on your new car. I agree the stereo is weak, just imagine how I feel with only two speakers - TOTAL. I keep spending on other things for my car than the stereo.

You should ask that question over in electronics forum. I'm going to move this thread. The guys there can help you.

Listen to them first. Sound Advice on Dale Mabry has both the Alpine Type-S and DB's in the same room. While it's by far not the best environment, I found the Type-S to sound FAR better for the music I listen to. Others have found the opposite but make sure you listen for yourself first.

That's why I have the alpine's in my doors and not the polks. I was very close to buying the polks based on comments here but I've very happy that I didn't.

Sure, it's fine I guess... if you have the top up or don't drive above 40 mph with it down. Above that with the top down it has zero low end and very little midrange, mostly all highs and that's it.

My system in my 06 is far from ground shaking, but it provides some low end and an appropriate amount of midbass, midrange and highs at 80mph with the top down.

I replaced mine with an Alpine unit, replaced the fronts with JL audio components and 300/4 JL amp. I can now hear it with top down, top up, and a block away. Love it!

A headunit will make a big difference, It has twice the power of the factory headunit, and puts out cleaner signal. Start from there. New speakers wont help, since the headunit can only produce so much power, and not the cleanest signal in the world.
