Default New alarm is acting up

I just got a 5902 installed with the window modules and a proxi sensor.
It was great when I picked it up at 6pm, but at 2am the alarm went off saying the hood was open.

now a hood pin or sensor was not installed. But I keep getting the hood open message every time I lock the car.
On a side not the remote start wont work cause the hood open message pops up.

I am going to pick up a hood pin tomorrow and plug it to see if that fixes it.

any suggestions or ideas on what is causing this issue?
I would appreciate your help guys.

Mike

They probably tied the prox sensor to your hood pin input. Unplug the prox.

did that did help.

Its funny you said that cause last night the alarm went off and it said the door was open. but in fact the door was closed.

could the proxi sensor be set to sensitive? if so how could I adjust that?

the prox is adjustable at the prox sensor itself;
also who did your install, if not done right (like if someone used t-taps) instead of soldering it can cause false alarms.
The brain of the viper sees small changes in voltages and triggers the alarm..And t-taps can cause small changes in voltages.
Seen this happen all the time when done by most of the car audio shops out there because they want to cut corners.

Some cars require u to diode isolate the door triggers, if this is required and u do not do it then it can cause the viper to trigger the alarm. The reason behind this is because some newers cars change there voltages after the car sits for a certain period of time (also known as ecu resting) (mostly seems on fords but now lots of cars are doing this).

Stealth_SUX_

Thanks for your input. If he used T taps then I guess I will have to go back in and soldering it my self.

i was using a module the xpress kit DLPK on a nissan quest. this takes care the door triggers for me so there was no dioding involved.
