New "I5' just released - has full US map built in plus a silver bezel (matches our interior better). Moving maps to and from the GPS is easy, plus memory will eventually be cheap, so I wouold only go for the I5 if you can find it cheap and/or you prefer the silver bezel. If the built-in map uses a hard drive like the Garmin C330, I would certainly avoid it since the drive uses more power and is more likely to fail compared to a memory card.

Get the Nuvi 350 (in Nov) if you want small-easy mounting. Check it out~

See the pics on the left of its size.

I've tried the C330 and the 2720. Love the 2720, but it is huge compared to the nuvi.

That NUVI 350 is a sweet mini PDA, but the MSRP is $$$. It's about the same volume as the I-series but flat, which would be nice for a pocket.

not the thread jack and all, but is there a difference between the streetpilot c330 and c340. i was thinking of picking one of these up before my road trip. i used the 2660 before, but that was just too big for me and these look perfect.

The C340 adds the ability for the 'voice' to say actual street names plus a traffic warning system (subscription service).

how would you mold this into the A pillar? You would need somebody to do a custom fabrication job on it, right?

pictures would be nice.
Yes exactly.. it would be a fiberglass job. Think of it as the guage pod but with NAV in it.

It would be done using mostly ABS and liquid plastic. I could inset it into the A-Piller so there's very little space used.

S2KinVA- Its harder than you would think to mold fiberglass to ABS plastic. Fiberglass doesn't hold to very well at all to ABS plastic. You need to use liquid plastic to mold it on. [/QUOTE]
Thanks for the info DK, I simply went by what my local shop described. Now that you have explained it, perhap I should think twice about using them...

Yeah the ABS Honda uses is weird. Its very hard to mold to. You have to use ABS and liquid plastic to make it work properly.

What are you trying to have done?

I want to add nav to my S and do not want to cut the dash.
