A new library setup in the works...
This thread is not for long draw out discussions. I will remove any post that does not help the thread topic.
Ok So I'm going to start reworking the FAQ's/Library... Because Phil made a good point in another thread that people come here and ask the same questions over and over and over again. And then we give them the same answers over and over and over again...
So I want good suggestions for how you think it should be set up. Please note that not all suggestion will be used so please don't be offended if I don't use your suggestion.
So let it begin:

So let it begin:
First of all....just to eliminate some posts....
*list of what headunits DO NOT fit in the s2000.
*Instructions on hardwiring, subsectioned into radar, foglights, etc.
*Exactly what you need (wiring and stuff) for a single and dual amp system in the s2k.
*List of speakers that require modification/list that dont require any.
*S2000 wiring diagram. (I know we cant copy the helms, so if someone with a helms can just write out what color wire is what, and where, that would be a BIG help for many.)
*Definitive answer on capacitors, so that we dont have 40 page discussions about it.
*Realistic power that the s2k can put out, (backed up with math)....so no 15000watt systems for the 180x4 sony radios.....
As for the format.....thats tricky...do you want to link it to a setup website (you can give username and passwords to certain people so that stuff can be added by different people)...this would make it easy....but hosting will cost money.
If you want to use thread format.....Just have the top posts be topics, and add to them. So if I need to see how to hardwire a radar, then Ill look at post 2(which would deal with hardwiring) paragraph 6, which is the radar section.....etc.
Thats all I can think of......Ill come up with more by morning.

Above list looks great. Speaking of eliminating a lot of recent posts, even though its insanely basic:
"What size speakers go in our cars?".
Also: Not sure exactly what direction you want to take with this, as in whether or not you want it to evolve beyond a pure info resource, but you could include some consensus talk on:
"Should I get rear speakers?"
and/or
"Can I add a ______ and keep the stock head-unit?"
Like I said, you may not want to go there, considering the difference of opinion, but personally I feel people could be helped by an unbiased pro/con type discussion.
Overall love the idea and above suggestions, good luck with the project, I think it will really benefit the community.

wait.... the Library will only be available to paying members and extra sections for gold members - which i think is a bad idea because guests such as i when i first started would not be able to see the helpful posts
i would re-think moving any and all the helpful posts so that guests can still see the infomation futhermore once your info is there it becomes property of s2ki.com..

I may just have a link to my websites' forum, and I will have to grant access to it.
But if I leave it here it will stay as a sticky at the top. Once this is in place either Jim or I will point noob's to that thread and lock the one that person started. Because this whole forum has become a whole bunch of the same type of questions over and over and over again and its a big waste of time. Eveyone will be able to see it Steve.

Yeah I know Steve, but you can see all the info now right... so why would that change? I'm not putting it in the "library" I'm leaving it here, or I would at least like to. Everyone should be able to see it not just Gold Members. It would be kinda stupid to have it only for Gold Members to see, seeing as though some of the infomation has been posted by Reg. Member's or even guest's.
All I know is that this forum is becoming a hugh repeat button and I'm totally sick of it. People say they search but they really don't know what to search for so they post "My stock radio sucks what should I do" threads and those have taken up so much space it makes me crazy trying to moderate it, and plus you have people who have no real clue about what the heck their talking about trying to post info, but that just creates more problems because their info is wrong, and just confuses the crapp out of people.
In the end we/us/I will have created a nice place to read about how to do this ot that, and what products are recommend from people experiences here what fits and so on. No bias BS just the facts.
Clause: If the Admins say I have to add it to the Library I will and there'll be nothing I can do about it

I would like to see some info on IPODs (installation, locations, devices to use to hook one up, etc...) and some info on Satellite (XM or Sirius, installation, locations, devices to use to hook one up, etc...).
