Yes they are TB's but they have been rewired to modify some of the specifications.

The original setup with non modified drivers did 136db.

They are actually in a slot port enclosure. But box was designed to give the flattest response possible with an extension in the low end frequencies that typically drops off in a sealed enclosure.
If you are going for a clean audiophile sound they out perform any thing else I have heard before.

They do put out 140db max (modified driver) in this install but lack some of the punch that a larger driver is able to supply.
I have not done a DB test since I installed the processors but I am expecting another 3db+ out of the low end frequencies.

I was going for acoustical base with the TB's with the base shakers under the seats (turned off for RTA SQ) giving the driver/passenger the punch one expects from a big system.

I did temporally install the subs in a sealed enclosure in the tool area in the trunk before I got my hard top and that worked ok. From the initial idea of doing this I wanted to put the box in the drop top storage area.

yeah, i have been looking at these drivers for a long time and now i have one for a project in my beater.

Im currently making the armrest into an enclosure. they are very nice, very compact, and perform beyond my expectations of a 6" driver.

 

I have found they really perform if installed in a well designed in series or parallel band bass encloser.


For those who thinking that this project is out of this world this is nothing compared to my FI project. (sorry no details until it is finished)
