Default New radar band?

I have used a Valentine 1 (v1.7 & v1.8 w/POP) for a looong time now. Works great, and actually saved me tonight from getting lasered. The other day, I was driving on a main road in town and noticed that there was one of those speed trailers (pictured below) coming up ahead. I was confused, because my V1 always goes off like a mile down the road, but it was silent. I also noticed another one just like it on the other side of the road.

Does anyone know why the radar wasn't detected? It was displaying how fast I was going, so obviously the speed trailer was shooting radar. Is it a new radar band they're using? Anyone else come across this before?

you have one of the bands turned off... I think KX is what they used... maybe KB band turned off on the detector.

KX? KB? I've never even heard of those bands. There isn't even a KX/KB indicator on the detector itself. Are those a variant of the KA band?

I have changed nothing on the detector. I've even got the X band still on.

See, that was my thought, too. I doubt Utah would be a place where they'd get enough funds for newer radars. I mean, some cops are still using X bands.

Really confusing...and unnerving...

werid... and the new KU band is detectable still because they are required to still run KU 1.002 while shooting with KU 20.11 because it can't be held in court right now.
