Nexus 7 integrated
Since I'm not listening to the radio, I wanted to get an evolutive solution to listen to the music.
I also wanted to be able to use the GPS, monitoring application.
I had a Samsung Galaxy Note I wasn't using anymore, so I decided to integrate it into the headunit console.
Despite armored cables, I had a lot of interferences with the Note, so I decided to buy a used Nexus 7 2013 and to integrate it.
Here's the start of the project.
So I re-used the console I had modified for the Note in order to cut and modify it for the Nexus 7.
I removed the carbon wrap from it and placed the Nexus 7 to ensure it would fit.

Since I performed a lot of modifications on the console, I re-inforced it with fiberglass to keep it rigid.

While waiting, I cut the console to fit the Nexus 7

Once cut, I tested it

It fits great, cool
Once this was done, I cut the fiberglass I added to remove what wasn't necessary and I covered the front with a soft touch wrap.
Here's the final result:
Nexus 7 Off:

Tablet booting up:

Home screen:

Music:

Waze:

Torque:

Nexus 7 installation software:
ROM: OmniRom with everything useless removed (tablet starts up in less than 20s)
Softwares: PlayerPro for music, Waze for Navigation (Google Maps is still installed), Torque for monitoring, AutomateIt to perform automatic tasks, AlwaysOn widget to avoid screen dimming during the day.
I configured 2 tasks in AutomateIt:
Power off when not in charge
At 7.30pm screen is dimmed to 20%
I'm still looking how to move the navigation bar from bottom to left (tried with Xposed + Gravity Box but didn't worked).
I also still have small interferences don't know why, I checked all grounds, everything is fine.

At the moment, I control the volume directly on PlayerPro but I'm thinking about how I could connect the volume buttons on the Nexus to the volume buttons on the OEM remote volume control.
