Default No DRL's?

I recently bought an AP1. It has HID's, looks like 6000k, definitely aftermarket
I just realized there are no DRL's on the car

where are the usual DRLs? are they normally the high beams? if so, how can I re-enable them? (not sure if previous owner just cut wire or what not)

Factory DRLs did not show up on the S2000 until 2006 in the United States. The DRLs on the 2006+ models are the high beams run at a lower voltage. There is a writeup on how to modify pre-2006 model high beams to operate this way here.
