Default OEM alarm going off...

so i've recently having problem with the oem alarm system. I currently have 2-way viper alarm system and never had any problem with it until two days ago.

it seems whenever i unlock and open then close the door (w/o starting the car), the alarm goes off for good 5 minutes and nothing seems to work except to wait it out.
I've never had a problem with the oem alarm and i thought it was disconnected when i got my viper alarm installed. I've noticed whenever i open the door, the alarm light blinks really fast and if i dont start the car, it goes off.

is there anything i could do to disable this? I'm uber-noob when it comes to alarm. all i could think of is to play around with a little button which looks like alarm disable, but no matter how many times i press it, nothing would happen.

if anyone has any kind of solution or suggestions, it'll be much appreciated.

seriously... the alarm went off at a busy mall parking lot and people were staring at me as if i was breaking into my own car. it sucked.

oh, btw, there is one button which is wired to the viper main module and found another one that looks like a toggle switch.

How long has the Viper been in the car? Seems they may have not used the alarm dissarm wire. The oem alarm is under the driver seat. Its a black box, unplug it and see if fixes it.

I know Circuit City does good installs. I have had multiple stereos and alarms installed by them. Always looks and works great.

i got it installed at my local shop. they're authorized viper dealer/installer. i must say, they did pretty crap job on it though. didnt install hood sensor, auto window up/down, didnt hook up the lights etc. still charged me like $300 for the install.

Usually they charge you extra for those things...

For the lights, they should have hooked those up. unless your kit didn't come with an relays for the lights and they cheated out and didn't wanna cover it

Dont go to any big box store, they dont solder wires. Window up and down require extra parts. Find a good local shop and ask them how they do installs, solder, hood pin, etc....

Many shops may not want to do it since your bringing in the product.
