the left oem speakers have been cracking and popping when playing music even when the bass setting is at -1. looking to replace it but one of the local car audio places here said i had to replace the tweeters as well because they are all intertwined and work together. is there any truth to that, can i just replace the two 6.5 and be okay?

 

yes they do work together, but you can just replace the bottem speakers without removing the top tweeters

 

replacing both the tweeter and the speaker will improve your highs and mids/lows... most speakers have adjustable cross overs so that way your tweeter isn't spitting out the lows and sounding like crap.

btw... they are called component speakers
