Off to do my install!!!
Ok 14 HOUR INSTALL!!!!!!!!

The bass shakers didnt come out as I hoped.
Still gotta work on them. 4 aug wire from batterie....running to a Autotek 80mxi. Powering 2 bass shakers pros.(seats dont transfer the shakers as well as I hoped.(I may have to move them well I not telling where!!!)
Up front are G&S redlines HUGE SPEAKERS. 3/4 inch medite spacer screwed and siliconed in.(doors fit perfect. Then for the tweeters. Far as I know I have not seen this done and well.....I KNOW WHY! Tweeters went in the air vents.
Yes very cool! Still have to tune and let you know on staging but it sounded pretty good last night. I made my car into a adj. height steering wheel in the process of taking the dash area that surrounds the speedo. IM NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN!!!(I think the tweeters are going to stay in the car when it gets sold! Only had one little scratch on the bottom corner near the steering wheel while trying to figure out how to get the dash board out!
When I say this system is totally stealth....I mean TOTALLY STEALTH!
Amp went in the tire with a pressure fit board and wire on the left holding it in and a wraped piece of wood on the right keeping the tire securely in place!
Well im shot and gotta go to work. I should call out dead!
laters.

Well I have come to a new conclusion.....I am moving my bass shakers and they are going to go on the bottom of my seats! There is a metal plate that is on the bottom of the seat which will work nicely! Cant believe I didn't think of it earlier. I had a major problem putting the seat bolts back in because I didnt want the shakers to far forward. If I put them on the seat it will move with the seat!
I am still dissapointed with the shakers though. I do believe it has to do with the amp im using.(to clean) Though I want to put a crappy amp on these I don't know if I can put another amp in the car! Unless I do a wrap and stuff! Which wouldn't be that good.
So looks like its back to the shop to pull out the shakers put the carpet back down I made a flap so it could go back nice nice.(nobody will notice)

Pinky,
You have 4 guage wire going to the shaker's amp?! What on earth for??? Please tell me I read that wrong, since those things are only 150W.
Fair warning...even with the small shakers Glenn and I have, the bottom of the seat won't work without some modification. There isn't enough contiguous flat surface to mount them onto, but I'm sure with a bit of hammer work that can be fixed (that was my original location of choice). For the simplicity in mounting, Glenn and I love the map pockets...no cutting/drilling required.
I like the idea of putting the tweeters in the air vents...let us know how the imaging works out. You definitely have more balls than me for taking out the entire dash...maybe someday I'll grow a couple that size.
Still going to do a subwoofer?

I did have a big reply to this long ago but our power at NASDAQ went out!
Simply I did 4 aug cuz I can and I dont know how far this system may go....so I go 4 aug since it equils 3 8aug wires! This way I can add an amp with no worries!(which I may just do.)
Next up is going to be a 90MXI Autotek. 45 watts each channel. More than double what I have going now. I am going to look into either A. Bridging the 4 channel that I run now into 2 ohm. mono load to get over 100 watts to each shaker. I will have to talk to the company and definitly add a fan!!!
I am going to be moving the passenger side shaker to under the passenger seat because it prevents the movement of the seat and removal of such. The other side may stay depending on how the passengerside goes! I guess these Pro shakers are POWER HUNGRY!!!
So tomorrow night I will have to test out bridging the amp and truning that sucker on. If I get big bass then im golden and can move on. Other wise I gotta look into more options.
Ok stats. 80MXI 20x4 @4 ohms 0.015 thd(very clean) Bridged 4 ohms 100x2 0.15thd.(still good and clean better if driving subs) Then if I go even lower not listed is 2 ohms mono. It will probably dish out 150-180 mono.....though will be a bit more distorted though its a bass shaker so it will be fine!
90MXI 45x2 @4 ohms same 0.015 thd bridged 440watts@ 4ohms. Yes that is correct its not a typo! Then if it were to go to 2 ohms mono well then it would be pusing upwards of 600watts. This is the reason why I put a 4 aug wire in!!!
I hope it does not come to putting in the 90 but hay it may come to that.

I HAVE BASS!!!! More than I can handle! I dropped the amp down to 2 ohm MONO and ended up putting the shakers on the seats them selves....slight modification there. No pics till it was installed(sorry) Im sure you can figure it out!
As for the rest of it those shakers are POWER HUNGRY!!! Very inefficient things. It feels like there is a huge sub under my seat! Only thing now is tuning the fronts. I like them when they play full range but they bottom out at higher volumes. Though the bass at that level is amazing! Though by S2KDays we will have a competition sound off.

I have been considering the Shakers for some time at my installer's recommendation and was thrilled to see your post. My installer let me listen to a pair he had installed in a 911 Cabriolet with BA speakers and my one concern is that there appears to be a discernable "gap" between the Shakers and the speakers at certain volume levels. What I mean by this is that unless the Shaker and speaker outputs are somehow blended, rather than feeling bass you get the sense that you are simply sitting in a car with loud music and jiggling seats. The cure appears to be that you have to fiddle with the Shaker output if you change your volume significantly. Did you experience this with your system?

Phil
