Default OK...so what are the Subwoofer options for the S2K??

Ive been trying to do alot of reading on this...here are the options ive came across..

1) 10" or 12" sub in the trunk that sits in place of the trunk well/tool kit.
2) Bazooka tube inside the cabin in front of the passenger seat.
3) Subwoofer behind the passenger dash area.
4) Under seat subwoofer (if there is such a thing)
5) 6.5" bass drivers in the doors (but where would you put the component set?)
6) 6.5" bass drivers behind the seats using Lucid Panels (if a sub will fit)

What do you think is the best way to go? I listen to alot of R&B and Hiphop so I like the hard hitting bass. Im concerned that if I put a sub in the trunk, it would not be sufficient because it being a convertable. Or, If i put small subs in the cabin, they wont give me the amount of bass Im looking for....

Currently I am using the stock CD player with Sony 6.5" 3ways....
Im going to change the Headunit to a MP3...

I am generally looking for a clean, clear sounding system with good bass responce that will favor my style of music...

Please suggestions??

THanks!

I have also made two fiberglass enclosures that were .5ft^3 and 1.0ft^3 and housed a 10" that fit into the spare tire well... I then modified the convertible top well to have a vent that the top rested on...

The sound is "good" at high speeds and "excellent" when the car is moving slowly... I want to look into better in cabin solutions though...

I believe JL Audio has a stealthbox for our car...also, you may want to talk to Lucid and Pinky regarding these options as they are a couple of pros in this area!

Im concerned that if I put a sub in the trunk, it would not be sufficient because it being a convertable.
A trunk in the sub can be more than sufficeint given adequate power. Removing the "well" that the top folds down into can improve response when the top is up as well.
A solution like Shaner's is the most elegant I've seen to date, but getting an equivalent custom enclosure made will mean a lot of time and money. With a box in the trunk, it is cheaper and easier to get a good, large (>1 ft^3) enclosure for a big 12 or pair of 10s. The tradeoff is loss of trunk space.
Supposedly a few persons have had in-cabin enclosures made, though I've yet to see pictures. I'm skeptical that there exists enough volume anywhere in the cabin for anything more than a single 8" in a tiny box, which I don't imagine will satisfy your needs.
The first link in my sig is one way of doing things, but by no means the best...
Good luck!

I'm interested in option #6 as well.

Also, how much space is there in the passenger side dash board? Could you fit an 8" in a small enclosure firing down?

i am working on my system and it is 95% complete.. right now i have a 10" bazooka (with a solobaric sub) in the trunk at only 100w and it sounds good in the cabin (i also removed the roof well). My near future upgrade is the nice 12" Infinity Kappa Perfect sitting at home waiting for the box (hopefully this afternoon) and i'll be pushing approx. 360w via a PPI2360 into that.. i'll let you know from there..

in my opinion.. the 10" tube is good for the tame bass listener..but i am like yourself.. i want my car to BUMP .. the box shouldn't be too bad as far as space goes but i plan to fiberglass the trunk to utilize the tool bin.. i'm also running a 100w x 2 sony amp to the infinity kappa perfect 63.3 - aluminum 3 way 6 1/2s up front.. one thing is for sure..the next thing i'mma buy today is Dynomat... especially once i get that 12 in..
