Looks like a pretty good head unit and set of speakers, but you ought to get more power. Find an amplification setup that will get 100watts RMS to the front speakers and 400 watts or more to the sub. At that point you'll have a much better sounding system than with what you have listed, and won't need rear speakers.

All us audio-heads have developed brand loyalties over the years, mine is to Rockford Fosgate for amplification. Their 800.4 amp would suit you well. 100 watts to each channel of the front stage, and 400 watts to the sub by bridging the other two channels.

Alpine makes good stuff and you could probably find a combination of their amps that would work for you, but the amp you listed would fall short of the capability of your speakers.

There are dozens of other amp manufacturers that other folks will swear by. Each has their strengths/weaknesses but IMHO none offer better performance or quality for the price of a Rockford.

Good luck!

If you are interested in the Rockford AMP - also my preference (found it to be the most stable in Arizona heat)

You can check out this site - Rockford Products

I am not aware of any board sponsors that sell Rockford Products (Please correct me if I am wrong)

I, and a few other board members, have ordered from them in the past and the service is not personalized, but efficient. The prices are are also very good - plus you can get sweet deals on MY2001 products.

You may not need the t420 to run the components the t320 may suffice @ 80x2 rms. The m500 would be good choice for the 12. Although, I am not sure how you are going to fit everything back there. The amps are the same size so they would look sweet next to each other. Mine will be recessed in the tool well, but the 500 and the 420 would probably not fit there. Anyway, that is probably the best place for a 12. I would advise against the tweeters in the a-pillar, they fit fine and sound ok, but I lost the swivel due to the depth. Good luck, I am sure it will sound excellent.

I am going with a similar setup:

Alpine 7892 Head Unit (wish I got mp3) (time correction is sweet)

Alpine MRV-T320 Amplifier (on order, using an eclipse 3620 for now)

Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 Component Speakers (a-pillar tweeters)

Alpine MRD-M300 Amplifier (running at 2 ohms)

Kicker 8" (9"x9' square) solo dvc in a .4 ft^3 fiberglass corner enclosure w/polyfill.

The amps are going where the tools were, tools in the spare tire, and there is room for golf clubs.
