Default Opinions on MP3 players plz!

Hi all... i currently have an alpine 7893 <--i think? I like alpines and have the lucid DCI installed. I have the dash and cluster lights changed to blue. It's cool cuz my alpine matches my dash... problem is.. It doesnt play mp3s.... whats a good replacement? Anything with a blue display?

If this helps, i have CDT 6.5 components in the door running on sony explod amp.

I'd stick with Alpine, especially since you already have the DCI.

CDA 9831, 9833, or 9835 gives you MP3 playback, plus the ability to customize the button color to match your interior lighting.

If you are happy with all of the other features that your current Alpine has then stick with it and buy an Ipod. For 300 bucks you can fit 20 gigs of music on it and you can constantly add\update tracks easily. They usually can be wired right into your cd-changer line-in if your HU doesnt have a line-in input. You can be as creative as you want to be with the install, too.

with VTECorona. $300 for a 20GB Ipod / $400 for a 40GB, plus $50 or less for the cables and you have a solution where you don't have to burn CDs.

I used to use my PocketPC, Windows Mobile Media Player and download music onto my SDCard - it could hold more MP3s than a CD.

300 bucks for an I pod. Really not worth the money IMO. Plus, i have mp3 changer at home that i use, plus I'd rather burn a cd, so i can take them with me in other ppl's cars. Arent there some nice mp3 players for around 300 bucks? more suggestions! more MORE!

Buy it, love it, and customize it. Plus you get Ai-Net support, and the Quick Search feature. Plus, well within your price range. You're happy w/ Alpine right? Stick with it. It'll cost you more to replace your DCI and what not instead of just swapping out the HUs.

You're making assumptions the other person's car can play MP3s too...

If you are stuck on a headunit buy the Alpine so you can use your existing DCI.

You can review the Alpine models on their site too, nobody else is going to know your preferences otherwise.

Don't you have to have Eclipse's voice command interface in order to add MP3 playback to the headunits? Or did they change that for this year?
