Default opinions on my future set up

This is what "CustomSounds" in San Antonio recommended.

Alpine 9857 HU with ipod cable (their price 299/ebay 260 with shipping)
JL 10W3v34 Sub (trunk on the side)
JL 250/1 amp for sub (trunk on the side) their price 299/ebay 245 with shipping)
JL vr 6.5 components (their price 219/ebay 165 with shipping)
Kicker zx200 amp for components (under seat) (their price 170/ebay 125 with s)

wires(16g kicker speaker wire and RCA cable)

I will get a DIC also.

Should I buy the stuff from ebay, which comes up about $200 cheaper all together, or should I just get it from them because of the warranty?

While I know your feeling on JL Audio, I am more than happy with my system. I chose JL because I have installed them in the past and have always been impressed.

Your original would be a good system, except for the amps. I would suggest either the JL 300/4 or 450/4 either of those amps could run the entire system.

It would be good, just simply more expensive and not as good as the system I quoted.

Like I said many times....I dont think JL is BAD. I just think others are better, for less. Thats all. Also, you never find this peculiar?....search for any post in the electronics section that a member went to a shop for advice and gear. Every single one of them recommends all JL products. Kind of hard to get a fair and unbiased opinion nowadays huh?

Oooh, I don't know about recommending that JBL amp. S/N ratio of 78db's? Wow, the last time I saw a spec like that was back in 1974... I think it was made by Audiovox or maybe it was Craig. No, I'm sure that it was Audiovox.
Why a JLAudio sub amp? Because for the money they are the best. (I need to get one). What other amp in that price range has a damping factor of 500 to control that sub excursion movement?
The only thing that I would change is to forget about the Kicker and upgrade to another JLAudio amp. Or, better yet, just go with (one) four or five channel JLAudio amp.
NFR, buddy, it's been 6 months since we went at it. I just had to reply to this topic. You know I love to talk about JLAudio with you. We had a great Mega-meet in South Florida a couple of weeks ago. We had 95 S-2000's attend. You ought to try to make it down next year. I'll buy you a beer.

Good Luck JiuJeetz,

Like I said a number of times....my recommendations are specifically for the s2000. They would change drastically if this was another car. I installed the JBL in another s2000, and it performed great. It was loud, clean, and reliable. Is it the cleanest sounding amp on the market? Of course not. However, the s2000 is a dirty car. It makes more noise than the middle east.

IMHO, the amp worked well.

P.S. JBL/Infinity is owned and made by Harmon.

Ill try to make it down next time

Ill hold you to that beer!
