It will over the course of a week.

How do I know? Because I've had it happen to brand new deep cycle batteries

i only say it cuase i was wondering why my battery was going dead after a week too. i even checked amperage draw like OP did. i was right near what he has also.

i then swaped to a new battery, and boom no more problems. i have left the car up to three weeks and it still cranks right up now.

Try using these to isolate which circuit is giving you the trouble.

http://aeswave.com/Products/Product.asp?i=659

Once you find it, check the book to see all relevant items on that circuit.

Just because you have a new battery, doesn't mean it could not be bad.

good luck

I have the same exact problem with my car. My battery drains also. i have the viper 5901 and a sound sytem modest amp and subs and aftermarket sony radio. my battery is only 6months old and i had it recharged 2x already since i had my alarm and sound sytem put in. I keep losing battery when i dont use the car. I had it checked out at a local Al & Eds shop. Basically they said i need to upgrade to an optima yellow top. or a higher end battery.
Anyone have experience with the yellow tops? i read mixed reviews about them?

Have you ever measured the draw from the head unit during idle? I'd be interested in knowing how it compares to mine.
