Default parking/turnsignal wire crossing (need help)

so, i have smoked diffusers, and the 194 parking light bulb dosen't adequately light them up anymore; it lights up just the bottom third and it looks bad. the way my diffusers look when i turn the hazards on looks great, if they weren't blinking of course. so, i took my driver's side front wheel and fender liner off and have been playing with rewiring options, confident that with some heat shrink splice wrappers i can restore my wires back to their original state if nothing works. here is my question:

currently, i've simply switched the wiring to the parking and turn signal lights, so that when i turn on the parking lights, the larger, higher positioned T20 bulb is on rather than the smaller, lower positioned 194 bulb. the bulbs light at the appropriate times and my diffusers look great, but this setup dosen't work for the following two reasons.

1. the T20 bulb, when powered by the parking lot wires, burns WAY too hot (it is intended to be connected to a 7.5W fuse, while the parking lot wires lead to a 10W fuse ... perhaps this is the reason for this? the 194 bulb accepts power from the turn signal wires just fine)

2. the turn signal, while functional, blinks at the double speed pace used to indicate a burnt out bulb.

i think that perhaps both of these problems would be corrected if i could find a bulb that fits the T20 socket, but has amperage, watt, etc. that match a 194 bulb. any suggestions on finding such a bulb, or generally better ways to do what i'm tring to do would be appreciated. a lot of posts suggest setting up a relay to illuminate the turn signal bulb with the parking lot bulb. if anyone has a step by step for someone unfamiliar with setting up a relay, i would really appreciate it. i'm a newbie, so i expect the way i'm going about this (just the notion i am criss-crossing wires, or the fact i can't handle setting up a relay, which it seems is assumed knowledge with most people) reveals some ignorance on my part, so sorry for that if any one is grossed out thanks for any help you guys can give.

Don't cut/splice any wires....

just buy the superbrite "led" bulbs http://www.superbrightleds.com/

if that doesn't work, then resort to cutting.
