Just happened to me. This is my 4th S2000 too. I was so pissed off for the last hour.

 

LOL I always wondered what that switch did! This thread saved me from going to Honda service and embarrassing myself.

 

Thanks so much for this thread. I just had the same issue after removing the door cards.

 

It's to keep the co-pilot from bailing out.
