Seems like traffic tickets are guilty until proven innocent these days....
pretty much.

always have been, always will be.

the county where i have an outstanding ticket is hours away from my residence. however, i visit the area once in a while - so go to court when im in the vicinity? no go.

one must attend mandatory pre-trial, which is hosted the last thursday of each month... in the morning. then, to go to court, has to be a morning the last thursday of each month.

between the wasted time off work to go to work, mandatory redundant pretrial where you reiterate that you want to go to court, its GUILTY or GUILTY BY INCONVENIENCE.

the system really piss me off

Airplane speed estimation is a lie because the plane is moving. Therefore he's not in a constant place from which to measure when you pass a line. His angle, and changing angle, make this impossible.
The car is so close to the ground proportionally that parallax is insignificant. It doesn't matter if the airplane is moving in this case. It doesn't invalidate the method. Some turnpikes will do this. If you get to the next checkpoint too fast, you MUST have been speeding (or able to defy the space-time continuum).

One benefit of airplane vs highway patrol is that the VASCAR system will report out your average speed while the highway patrol will clock your fastest speed.

I normally drive <10mph over the limit, but have been known to pass a slow driver (legally) at a high rate of speed to limit time in the oncoming lane. By VASCAR, I'm not getting to the next checkpoint much faster... but by highway patrol I might have been going 30mph over (for all of three seconds).

Planes dont use radar. They use markings on the road and a stop watch.
