Persistant buzz
I have a persistant buzz from the amp. We've isolated things to the point that we know it is not from the head unit, or wiring. It is not affected by volume or rpm. It does go up with gain on the amp.
So there's something wrong with the amp, or there's some noise getting in from the power, or the ground is not good enough. They're trying to blame the problem on the nature of the S2000, as opposed to other cars. The shop where I bought the amp thinks that the ground could be better. They say nothing less than a ground through the chasis will do. They also say I should jump a second ground off the battery through the chasis.
There was another 04 there that had a similar install as mine, with a more expensive Audison amp. It also had a buzz, though less than mine. My gain is turned up higher than his, as his amp was much more powerful than the speakers in his car.
I'm at a loss. The shop wants to go down a tracking list and charge me for three days of labor or so to find the problem.
As the problem is reduced when the gain is reduced, I've thought of going from a 5 to an 8 volt headunit, so the gain won't need to be so high. The other S2000 had an 8 volt, however. It's buzz/hiss was less than mine, but still there. It's pretty bad on my car. I have to turn the volume up about 1/4 of total before the music overcomes the buzz.
Please help if you can. I have thousands of dollars in this and don't want any buzz sound.

I have a few additional questions out of curiosity. What amp and were do you currently have the amp grounded? What RCA connectors are you using and at any point do the RCA cables run parallel with the power wire. Where did they run the RCA cables?
