Is there a standard for the data used in these Nav systems.
In Australia we can purchase the Carin/Phillips/VDO Dayton system or the Blaupunkt. A mapping company supplies CD's for each type.
Does the Pioneer conform to one of these 'standards'? Is it CD or DVD? Will it work downunder?

I'm working on installing the Pioneer 9 inch wide screen in the dash. Either a motorized flip up where the air bag is, or directly under it. I'm also going to have the 6 disk DVD changer, 12 disk CD changer, navagation, 3 JL 12 inch subs, and either MB Quart or OZ highs. The setup should kick butt. But is does cost almost half the car.
