Polk Audio db6501
I'm upgrading my system and want to put db6501's in the doors. Crutchfield says these don't fit: The face dimension is approx. .25" too much, which causes the cones to rub on the back of the door panel. The 6500's fit fine, but don't have the bottom end that the 6501's do..
Anybody install these? If so, any issues?
Will Lucid's speaker adaptors solve this problem?
Thanks.

I started at Crutchfield which is why I was concerned. Call Polk Friday and they confirmed that the 6501 is a much better speaker, and that it will fit, no problem.
Thanks everybody for the feedback: Ordered a pair each of 5251's and 6501's. Will be putting in S-pods, for the 5251's.
Already have a 9857 and DCI, so I'm crawling into the EJ realm.

Good luck with the install.
I'm trying to do the install of the 6501's and the stock bracket does not fit the new speaker (3 <> 4 screws). They do come with their own bracket but that would have to be forced into the door as it doesn't quite align with the holes.
I saw an option of putting their bracket on top of the stock bracket but that made them come out too far.
How did you guys install them?
I'm kinda pissed right now
