I'm not familiar w/ the mm6's, but I have the MMC6500's and they fit fine. I've been very satisfied w/ the sound. I can't give you any comparison vs. the db6500's b/c I've never heard the later.

I've got db6500s & 100W/ch up front and a 10" Polk/Momo sub driven by 2 X 100W channels bridged. One Rockford Fosgate 4 X 100 Watt amp. It sounds great. Don't know about the MMC6500. Is that Polk/Momo component set? If so then they're even better than db6500s, my 10" Polk/Momo sub really pounds. Are they worth the price difference? I dunno. Listen to both back to back. Only you can judge.

Even if they are 6.75" speakers, then can be made to fit. You will just need a 3/4" spacer. I have a set of 6.75" Blaupunkts in my doors now. They fit....barely. But they still fit.

They come w/ rings/spacers that fit perfectly. The only thing i had to tweak on mine was to cut a couple of small notches in the tweeter pods to get them to fit in the MY03 stock location.

I listened to the Momo 6500's and the db 6500s and liked the Momos better. Better sound and better construction materials, so for $40, I'd go with the Momos.

im not going to do the installation myself. i know of a good shop in my area that will do it, however im worried if any cutting is involved. if it is not, then i will get the momos

also, i imagine the momos have better bass response than the dbs correct?

No cutting should be needed. They will probably just add a 3/4" baffle plate to get the extra clearance, not cut anything. If they cut the door panel, the speaker would fit too deep and would contact the window track......and they should know that ahead of time if they are half way decent. Measure twice, cut once.

I didn't have to do anything at all to install the db6500s, they were a direct replacement. S2000 has 6-1/2" DIN door speakers. That was just one of the patterns supported by the stock db6500's.

Well, most speakers are not "direct replacement" speakers, as the usually require cutting of the stock speaker basket for larger magnets. I cannot speak for Polk, as I have never installed / used them before. I was just speaking in general reference to 6.75" speakers (if they are indeed that size), and that they can be made to fit without serious modification.

The question is if the MMC6500 and the db6500 speakers are the same size (diameter, depth, magnet size, etc.).
