Default Polk db651s

Are these worth (about) $100 to replace my stock door speakers in my MY07 (stock hu)? I would like a little better sound and ability to hear music at speed with top down.

They were a noticeable improvement over my factory(04) speakers powered by an aftermarket head unit. I wasn't really happy until i finally installed an AMP. With the amp I have right now, I can blast down the freeway at 80mph with the top down and get pretty damn clear sound.

I currently have a 120W per channel amp going to them and will be upgrading to some Hertz speakers in the near future. Maybe then I'll finally be 100% satisfied.

1) aftermarket head unit - if you use the stock HU to power new speakers, that'd be kinda useless... might want to add in Modifry's DCI to keep dash controls.
2) aftermarket speakers
3) amp
4) sub

I like my db6501 components, but they didn't perform as well as I expected compared to stock, seems like giving them more power via an amp will really improve their sound.
