Default Problems with DCI with my Pioneer HU

Ok Guys...

I just recieved my DCI Sony/Pioneer and the harness that came with it. I have a Pioneer deh-650 which is the Premier one. I wired up everything properly but when plug in the radio the only thing that work properly is the MUTE button. I double checked my wires but i dont understand why in the world the CH and MODE and especially my VOL controls dont work....

i started to get frustrated on the this but i figure i come to you guys first to see if I can get any input...thanks

any input BOB would help greatly...thanks so much...

ps. YEs i did read the FAQ on the Modifry website...but I have not been able to get the other dash controls to work...

The Dash Switch wire is probably loose or disconnected.

Well, did you get the wired or the IR version? Mine is wired...

now there are two ways to mute... one is to use the mute wire.. I think it was (edit BLUE)? The other is to let it mute through the IR or remote connection.

Now, if you connected the mute wire (which you shouldnt IMO) then its possible that the mute is working through that wire.

And if you are IR, then the IR isnt aligned, or if you are wired like me, then the wire isnt connected properly. In this case, you would get mute, but nothing else.

I left the blue wire disconnected. You wont need it as the mute will work through the miniplug remote wire.

What I think you are missing is either the green wire is loose, or you havent done this properly:

Err... if you dont have the spot in the back to plug it in then I am sorry to say you got the wrong DCI.

Let me double check that head units specs.. I would think the 650 would have it... but it might not. If it doesnt you have a problem.

OK, if it is the Premier DEH-P650 (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...tailComponent#)
Then it should have the connection. You have to use the one where your Pioneer steering wheel remote goes. It should be in the back.

have you double checked all the DIP switches?

also, if you have a meter, Bob's detailed troubleshooting for the DCI can be very useful and effective.
