Throw a Kicker 10L7 or 12L7 into that mix and you'll have the start of nice system. I like Kicker and would like to run Kicker, but I don't like how big their amps are.

Not sure I have room for that woofer, I'm looking to hold on to as much trunk space as possible.

Am I crazy thinking I can mount that amp behind the passanger seat (not underneath, behind)

well, my main comment would be -- replace the headunit as soon as you feasibly can. the improvement in sound quality will be quite dramatic.

be sure you demo the speakers you're considering and on an 800.4 or at least a power level similar to what the 800.4 outputs.

also, be aware that 800.4 is a big amp... if you wanted to mount it in the tool well, you wouldn't be able to unless you mounted it w/o the shroud, and even then it might be very close.

as far as mounting it behind the seat - i'm sure it could be done, but with the Kicker having a fan intake on the top of the amp, it might create a cooling problem for you. and it will also make the amp more visible and thus more targetable for thieves. WLaurent is the only person i know of who mounted an amp behind the passenger seat - you may want to try and see what he did.

final thought - the Kicker dual 2 ohm voice coil 8L7 in WLaurent's box would match nicely with this setup both for power handling and since you seem to be a 1 brand kind of guy.

I was just blown away by the construction and sound quality of Kicker's Resolution series in my last car. That's why the brand loyalty.

Also, since I have decided to put the amp behind the pass. seat I am no longer considering a 4 channel, instead looking for a 2 channel.

Don;t any of you guys worry about using your spare or having aplace for your OEM wheel if you get a flat? All I see is amps and woofers in the trunk!

the kicker 800.4 is 24X9.5 WITHOUT the shroud! it's a huge amp. not sure if you'll be able to fit it behind the seat!
