Default Q. about Honda Insight antenna upgrade

I know that places like http://www.handa-accessories.com/s2000-03maint.html sell the 16" antenna for the Honda Insight, indicating that it works for the 2000-2003 S2000. But does it work with later model S2000's, in particular 2008's?

I have an '08 and would LOVE better radio reception, but need to know if the antenna will fit before I buy one.

Thanks,

Robert

HandA has the same part number for both the s2000 and Insight antennas listed under the 00-03 maintenance items as well as the 04-09. A 2 minute call to them will verify. I ordered this antenna a month or 2 ago and reception is AWESOME! Night and day difference in clarity. Some of the best money I've put into this thing.

From the pic on that site, it looks like doo doo.

Is that the case and you guys can just deal with it for the reception or...?

It does make the car look a bit more like an RC car but it doesn't stick up or out enough to bother me. Reception is improved 1000% as I wasn't able to listen to a ton of stations and I'm in a great radio market (Atlanta.) I have it and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I like it because its not as likely to be stolen.

Wow, that's definitely long! I'm glad I'm not tied to the radio, hehe.

Well I got one and installed it. I like the look, but then I have a black car so it fits right in. Unfortunately I'm not sure if there's any significant difference. It's certainly not night & day. Older eclipse head units with stock antenna receive more / better in my old Mustang and my pickup truck. I'm not sure if I still don't have enough length, or if the craptastic amplified antenna screws up reception. Or, maybe, if it's because where I'm at there are a LOT of overlapping stations and maybe the stock HUs selectivity isn't very good.

Anyhow, it was a cheap experiement, but I'm not particularly impressed.
