I did a search and couldn't come up with anything about this.

I currently have a '00 stock head unit with Lucid rear speakers and was considering upgrading to a used ('02 or newer OEM head unit) and because of budget restrictions the thought of upgrading to an aftermarket is out of the question.

I was wondering if I upgrade to a newer head unit, do I need to upgrade or exchange my current rear harness from Lucid or will the current one fit on a '02 head unit?

Not sure if this is much help, but from what I have been informed the oem HU was changed on MY02. And a couple of the later MY02's have untapped rear outputs as do the MY03's. Also when you do purchase the harness from Lucid, it does ask you to specify your MY. This is all speculation of course, fastest way to find out would be to email Lucid himself.
