Hello-

I'm wondering if someone can tell me if the interior dome light is supposed to work when it is switched to the off position for the doors. Meaning if the dome light is set to not turn on when the doors are opened....the far left position....Can you still turn on the light using the push buttons? I just found out mine doesn't do that and was just wondering if it's supposed to be like that. I have an 02 if that makes a difference.

I guess I should also say hi as a new member. Appreciate the good advice and topics on this site.

The far left position on that switch turns the lights OFF and they won't work at all. You need the middle position before the other switches will turn the light on.

When I use the middle position it stays on all the time? Any thoughts, doors are closed, no dash light for that either. Factory defect?

 

Mine just plain doesn't work, so I don't bother. (Bad connection somewhere)

 

take the dome light apart and clean the contacts.

corrosion in the said contacts prevented them from lighting up when switched by the door/keyless entry.
