I search through the forums and the electronic sticky, which says so to do this i don't need any ipod adapter of some sort, just plug it right in?

Yes you will need an adapter. You can get one that will plug into the CD changer port on the back of the HU.

That one will get your ipod music onto your factory head unit ONLY through an auxiliarly line input, which means you're not charging your Ipod and you won't be controlling it through the stereo controls.

I agree, that's the one I linked him to, but he doesn't want to spend that much I guess.

 

i was a little confused at first but i seem to get it now, i think i might just get a new head unit if im gonna spend over 100 bucks. i thought it would be cheap to just hook up the ipod but its more involved. this way ill get more for my money. im looking at the alpine 9856.

 

That's the way to go Beantown! I can get you a fair price on that headunit and the gear you'll need to hook it up to your car and your Ipod to it.
