Quick Question-Speaker Installation

Default Quick Question-Speaker Installation

I'm installing speakers into spod. When i go to hook up wires to back of stock radio. do i need to disconnect battery?

I didn't disconnect it with my install because I didn't have the code at that time - heck, I didn't even remove the cable from the back of the radio! Do you have your radio code? If so, there is no worry about unplugging the radio, I wouldn't worry about the battery.

Side note:

I would HIGHLY recommend that you drill a hole in your hoops instead of "cracking" them like the directions recommend. After cracking and fishing the wire through, your hoops never look the same. Now the top of my hoops don't fit right and the area where the wire comes through is all deformed.

I wish I had drilled a hole inside the hoop at the top and fished the wires through. There it would be at least out of sight and I could pop a plug in it if I really cared.

Also I'd highly recommend packing the cavity with acoustic foam - the chamber is too small for much bass and acoustic foam helps at least absorb most of the reflections.
