Default Radar detector and anti-theft mounting solutions

So i've had a v1 for the past 3 years and i cannot live without one. I'm going to be getting another one for the s2k (I just like to jump in and go). I've got a full cage, and a soft top. Been thinking a lot lately about where to mount my V1 to make it theft proof with the top down. I was thinking about milling some billet down to fit the v1 like a clamp on the top and bottom and mounting it to my cage, using all start bolts for hardware.

What have you guys done? Please post pics, doen't matter if it's a v1 or not. Looking for ideas and inspiration

EDIT: PICS

It's an unusual request. Most just take it down or leave it. You might want to expand your search beyond S2000-specific installs. If top-down theft was a concern for me, I'd seriously consider something like the 9500ci instead.

yeah but i figured most of you guys would have something worth while. 9500ci is out of the question, i love my V1 and have grown accustomed to the arrows, not to mention the price of the ci is about double what i plan on spending between a v1 and blinder for this car.

I've often thought of this as I too am concerned leaving it out top down. I have the wireless 8500 so i can easily remove it but sometimes it's nice just to jump out of the car and not have to worry about anything. Luckily I live in a very safe town so I am mostly ok, but typically i will still at least throw it into my glove box. I also move mine between cars so a perminant mount work anyhow.

I am however in the process of taking apart my garmen GPS to mount it w/ screws to my modify adaptor. You may wa nt to think about a similiar approach.

im in the same boat. have a v1 but scared to leave it in. i think im gonna hardwire it in, mount it at top center of windshield by mirror. trying to think of some way to camouflage it. also, i know v1 has accessories. one of which is a remote notifier i believe. maybe look in to the accessories. might find some sort of solution with those.

I have my cage all done now so what i'm going to do is have my buddy machine a sandwhich plate adapter and mount it to the rear rool hoop with tamperproof hardware. Then i'm going to use the remote display. I'll get pics up when complete
