This was a tough call for me, and I am in the same boat trying to decide between them too. For me, I just had to bite the bullet and get both. If I get another ticket anytime before Christmas, I am boned so the Radar Detector is a must. I was in a restraunt the other day and could not see the car from inside. I was thinking about it the whole time. I need the piece of mind the alarm will bring.

It really does depend on where you live, me a city dweller so Alarm was day 3 on the car and the RADAR before the shore trips started.

Besides when the crook steals your car dont you want thim to be able to speed away!!!! GET BOTH!!!

It's SO MUCH MORE likely that I'll get a speeding ticket than broken-into. So, I've got a V1. However, I've also got a garage. But, I'd never go w/out the radar detector. So, it would either be radar detector or both.

Good point. I normally hide my V1 when parked out of site. And, again, my baby's in my garage at night. So, no alarm, yet. Is there an alarm that would go off if someone cut the soft top? That would be the easiest way into our cars, right?

Get a motion sensor with it. Anytime someone reaches into my car it will go off. I also recommend more than one siren. I have 3 plus horn honk. Yeah I can hear my car going off from a pretty good distance.
