Radio code help
Hey all. Did some forum searching on this already, only post on topic is closed. Anyway, long story short: battery died and I don't have my radio code ergo no radio. The serial number from my glove box is 00A16559. Does anyone have access to the Honda database that could get the security code from this?
Dealer wants $75, but more importantly I just don't have the time to drive down there during business hours for the next couple of weeks.
Can anyone help me out? THANKS!

Try that number out if you have it.
My dealer found mine under the fuse box cover in the engine bay on a sticker. Also check the fuse box cover in the car. Other then that you'll just have to shell out the $75 bucks. Oh yah I don't know how mechanical incline you are but it might be on the back of the stereo
Yep, tried all those places, spare/tools area, all the various plastic covers for things. The serial number (as I posted above) IS on a sticker in my center storage compartment. The security code is not going to be on the radio, that would negate the whole 'theft prevention' concept, wouldn't it?
NO way the dealer is getting a cent from me on this. I can buy a used 02+ radio for less than $75.

I have a connection at my local Honda dealer and I'm on the phone with him right now. I should have a code for you in a minute. Actually just got it!
I know this might sound bad, but can you or somebody else vouch that this is definitely your radio? No offense intended.
I can PM it to you ASAP if all is cool.

I had this problem when I bought my s2k used. I drove to the nearby dealership that sold the car new to the previous owner, and they pulled up the code on their computer and just gave it to me after I produced the vehicle registration showing I now own the car. Apparently, the selling dealer has easier access to more complete records on the car than other Honda dealers in general, so I would try the selling dealer here, if you know who that is.
I have the code right here. I just wanted to see if all is cool before I give it up. I don't want to be known on S2Ki as the jag-off who gets codes for stereo thieves.
Can anybody vouch for Halo? And more importantly, does everyone think this is ok that I'm doing this?
Phil.
