Default Radio door won't close

I just installed a JVC KD-AVX44 and it sticks out too far, 3-4mm too far i believe. It hits the top of the radio door. Is there any tricks you guys kno to make it fit. i tried unscrewing the deck and pushing it further in but there is like tno room back there. =( the door closes if i remove the faceplate, but i want it to be able to close while i listen to music .

You can trim some of the inner radio door off for some headunits to get it to close, but not all. Sounds like it sticks out really far, in which case, there isn't anything you can do.

thanks for the quick response. Is there suppse to still be room behind the HU when it is installed? because i think i could get it in more if i could adjust the harness. Is there any way to access it with the HU installed?

i had this same problem with the same headunit... you have to keep messing with it... it does go in a bit more... i was able to get my radio door to close but it did hit the hu... so i cut out all of the backing of the radio door... now it fits like a charm
